Microsoft Azure needed a brand video to showcase and explain their Modeling and Simulation Workbench product. RUN handed Shawn the responsibility of providing end-to-end execution, from initial styleframes and storyboards to full illustration and animation build-out. In the thick of production, Shawn onboarded and managed other freelance designers to help execute a handful of scenes.
The client wanted to implement an isometric illustration style that provided a clear representation of the product offerings. Shawn developed a flexible icon library that could be used throughout the piece for consistency while creating easily understandable visual metaphors to complement the technical language in the script.

For the key principles section, Shawn shifted the background colors to give the section it’s own feel, while adding isometric numbers to help the viewer navigate. Custom visuals were also developed for many of the key areas, with each section featuring two to four unique segments.
